President John M. Knott

Experience

John M. KnottMr. John Knott, President of JD Technologies, LLC started his career with GE in Lynn, Massachusetts as a product design engineer and graduated from their rigorous Engineering Career Development Program. This was followed by senior design/new product design responsibility with United Technologies Corporation where he transitioned into marketing and sales. With this experience, coupled with an MBA, Mr. Knott achieved assignments of increasing responsibilities with established high tech companies as well as start-ups. Mr. Knott has successfully represented manufacturers by selling products in the northeast region of the United States and throught out the world since 1989.

Mr. Knott worked closely with Dr. Robert Jarvik, artificial heart pioneer & Jarvik Heart in developing The Jarvik 2000. Successful in winning a $5.8 million National Institutes of Health contract for this technologically advanced ventricular assist device. Held in the hand, the Jarvik 2000 pump is about the size of a C battery. Within its welded titanium shell sits a direct-current motor, a rotor supported by two ceramic bearings, and a single moving part: a small, spinning titanium impeller that pumps blood from the heart at up to 7 liters per minute. Rather than take over for the biological heart, the Jarvik 2000 augments the weakened heart’s blood output to help restore a normal blood flow throughout the body. Mr. Knott developed a winning sales strategy and managed an extensive sales effort involving numerous functional groups within an original equipment manufacturer, Texas Heart Institute, Jarvik Heart and numerous partners.

The common denominator with Mr. Knott’s extensive sales and marketing experience and accomplishments has been “identifying and satisfying customer values better than the competition can or will do” and selling technical products and/or services resulting in increased revenue and profit.
